Lakeland Highlands, FL Swimming Pool Restoration
This is a personal project performed entirely by John, the owner of Best Lakeland Handyman, LLC, showcasing our dedication to solving even the most overwhelming home repair challenges. After sitting unusable for two years due to pump failure and neglect, this this Highlands City pool in the George Jenkins High School area had become a breeding ground for pests and a source of despair for the homeowner. John developed and executed a comprehensive plan, proving that no job is too far gone for our expertise and commitment to quality.
Two Years of Neglect: The Unusable Pool
This wide-angle shot shows the pool as John first found it. After two years without a functional pump, the water was dark, mucky, and completely unusable. The adjacent patio and deck area had become overgrown, demonstrating the true scope of the challenge before Best Lakeland Handyman's owner and founder began working on the project.
Deep Cleaning: Removing Slime & Muck
After carefully pumping out the vast amount of dark water, John was left with six inches of dense algae solids, muck, and slime across the pool’s bottom. This photo is the result of the demanding, meticulous process of shoveling and scrubbing the entire pool interior by hand and then pressure washing, to ensure surface readiness for the new pool paint.
Surface Prep: New Paint & Structural Patch
With the pool completely cleaned, John sealed all cracks and patched golf-ball sized divots in the surface. This photo shows the new blue pool paint being in the process of application. This meticulous restoration process required an additional five days to allow the pool paint to cure properly, ensuring a lasting and flawless underwater finish.
15,000 Gallons of Sparkling Transformation
